Trailer: Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

Quoth Noel: “My manager asked me who the High Flying Birds are. They aren’t anyone in particular. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds is me and whoever is around at the time of whatever it is that I’m doing, a loose collective kinda thing.”

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds has/have (depending on how you see it) announced details of his/their debut (solo) single ‘The Death of You and Me’, which shall see the light of day on August 21st.

An eponymous album, co-produced by Noel and David Sardy (who worked with Oasis on both Don’t Believe the Truth and Dig Out Your Soul), shall follow on October 17th. Not quite a case of “Radiohead, eat your heart out” but still pretty sneaky.

‘The Death of You and Me’ will be available as a so-called “digital bundle” on August 21, with the new video and an exclusive b-side, ‘The Good Rebel’, unavailable elsewhere. CD single and 7″ formats will be available the following day. Details of a tour shall apparently soon follow. All in all, welcome back Gallagher the (musical) elder!
